Galaxy Home has an interesting look

Earlier this week, Samsung officially announced its Bixby-powered smart speaker – the Galaxy Home. The design is certainly interesting, as its three legs and curved frame sets it apart from most competing products. As it turns out, the Galaxy Home bears a striking resemblance to various common objects – including pots, grills, and even cow udders.

Like Apple did with the HomePod, Samsung is touting the Galaxy Home first and foremost as an excellent listening speaker, with multidirectional tweeters and a full subwoofer as well as some neat audio-optimization tricks. Spotify is Samsung’s new streaming-music partner, which means you’ll be able to control Spotify music playback with Bixby. The device will also serve as a hub for smart home gadgets using the SmartThings platform.

We know Bixby will be on board, but what specifically it’ll be capable of remains a mystery. While there will probably be some things to like about the Galaxy Home, the lack of info Samsung has provided made its introduction feel like a rushed, incomplete letdown. It’s the kind of misstep that’s hard to make when you’re competing against the likes of Apple, Google and Amazon. galaxy home appearance

In terms of design, it has a rather new shape, like a giant egg with a flat head resting on a three-legged throne. It doesn’t look like there will be any variants in colour, but who knows, Samsung might just experiment, if the smart speaker does well in the markets .The Austrian acoustics company, AKG has powered the Samsung Galaxy Home speakers.

To demo the speaker, Samsung announced a partnership with Spotify, which makes the device look a lot like the HomePod – just like you can ask Siri to play music from Apple Music, here you will have Bixby and Spotify. The Galaxy Home has an interesting something called the SoundSteer feature, which directs the sound from the speaker to the person who is speaking. Also, with the built-in SmartThings Hub, you will be able to do things like turn on and off lights and control compatible smart appliances at home.

Since the device was launched with such great fashion and at such a grand scale, we guess the price too, is going to be on the higher end.
