Instagram stories are not just disappearing photos or videos. They have become a way of life for many. That’s why when horizontal lines started appearing in their stories, panicked users took to Twitter to ask if others were experiencing it too.

On Thursday, 6 December, gray or multi-coloured horizontal lines started appearing on some Instagram stories. In some cases, tagged locations and text on stories were also illegible and disarrayed. Instagram, this morning, acknowledged the issue of horizontal lines appearing on people’s stories, and tweeted that they are “working to resolve it as quickly as possible.”

“We’re aware of this issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible,” an Instagram spokesperson told CNN Business. The company did not provide any additional information.
