A new update to the WhatsApp messaging app lets users send stickers in their chats.
The Facebook-owned app announced the new feature in its blog on Saturday (October 27), adding that it will be available for Android and iOS users in the coming weeks.
Users will be able to pick from a variety of stickers, which include an illustration of a smiling teacup and a crying broken heart, by tapping the new sticker button in their app and selecting the sticker they would like to share in their chats. Stickers are accessible through the new sticker icon in the text input field, which will open up a menu of stickers. Like its parent company Facebook’s sticker system, you have to first download the sticker pack you want before you can use it. For now, the stickers are created by WhatsApp designers along with a few selections from other artists. WhatsApp has also added support for third-party sticker apps on Android and iOS, so if you have a sticker pack published to the Google Play Store or App Store, users can send those stickers within WhatsApp.
